    Service Overview

What is industrial and factory catering?

Industrial and factory catering refers to the managed delivery of high-volume meals to workers in manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, warehouses, and other industrial facilities. Unlike standard office catering, factory food programs must operate across multiple shifts — including night shifts — often feeding thousands of workers daily under strict hygiene, portioning, and scheduling constraints.

At HGK Foods, we design and operate these programs end-to-end. We source and vet compliant kitchen partners, build shift-aligned meal schedules, enforce FSSAI and food safety SOPs, and manage daily service delivery — so your HR and plant administration teams can stay focused on core operations.

Why factory catering is different from office catering

Industrial workers perform physically demanding roles — caloric and nutritional requirements are higher, service windows are tighter, and disruption to shift timing has direct operational consequences. A poorly managed food program leads to absenteeism, low morale, and productivity loss. HGK Foods is built specifically for this environment.

    Shift-aligned meal scheduling

Meal timings, batch sizes, and service windows are mapped precisely to your shift rotations — including night shifts and double-shift days.

    High-volume kitchen capability

Our kitchen partners are equipped and vetted for industrial-scale output — from 500 to 10,000+ meals per shift without quality compromise.

    Nutrition-managed menus

Menus are designed with caloric density and macro balance suitable for physically active workforces, reviewed quarterly by our nutrition team.

    On-site hygiene compliance

All service areas, serving counters, and dining zones are audited to FSSAI and ISO 22000 standards. Documentation is maintained centrally.

    The Problem We Solve

Common challenges in industrial catering — and how we address them

Factory food programs are operationally complex. Here are the issues most industrial facilities face — and how HGK Foods resolves them systematically.

    Common problem
    Inconsistent meal quality across shifts

Night shift workers often receive lower-quality or leftover meals, creating workforce dissatisfaction and grievances.

    HGK approach
    Shift-specific batch planning

Each shift receives freshly prepared batches — not reheated leftovers. SOPs mandate prep-to-service windows per shift.

    Common problem
    Vendor non-compliance and hygiene lapses

Unvetted kitchen vendors frequently fail hygiene audits or hold expired FSSAI licenses, creating liability for the facility.

    HGK approach
    Pre-vetted, certified kitchen network

Every partner kitchen undergoes compliance verification before onboarding. We maintain all documentation and flag renewals proactively.

    Common problem
No visibility into cost or service performance

Plant managers have no real-time data on cost-per-head, waste, or service adherence — making budget control impossible.

    HGK approach
    Monthly MIS reports and dashboards

You receive monthly management reports covering meal counts, cost-per-head, waste metrics, compliance status, and satisfaction scores.

    Common problem
    Menu monotony driving worker dissatisfaction

Repetitive menus with no regional variation or seasonal rotation lead to low uptake, food waste, and worker complaints.

    HGK approach
    Quarterly menu innovation cycle

Menus rotate quarterly with regional variety, festival specials, and seasonal ingredients — informed by workforce feedback surveys.

    Service Scope

What's included in our industrial catering program

Every engagement covers the full operational lifecycle — from partner sourcing to daily service and reporting. Here's what we own end-to-end:

Kitchen partner sourcing, vetting & onboarding

We identify FSSAI-licensed, high-volume-capable kitchen partners near your facility, conduct infrastructure and hygiene assessments, and manage formal onboarding including SLA agreements.

    Shift-wise meal program design

We design meal schedules aligned to each shift window — including early morning, day, evening, and night shifts — with appropriate menu types, batch sizes, and serving formats for each.

    SOP design, training & enforcement

Custom SOPs covering raw material procurement, kitchen hygiene, food preparation, portioning, packaging, transport, and serving counter management — trained with all kitchen and service staff.

    Menu planning with nutritional management

Quarterly menu design incorporating caloric requirements for physical labour, regional cuisine variety, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and dietary accommodations as required.

Scheduled hygiene audits & quality inspections

Regular inspections of kitchen premises, food storage, serving areas, and waste disposal — with corrective action logs and management reports provided monthly.

Meal transport & on-site service coordination

For off-site kitchen models, we manage meal transport logistics including food-grade vehicles, temperature control, and delivery time adherence to align with shift break windows.

    Cost management & MIS reporting

Monthly reports detailing meal volumes by shift, cost-per-head trends, food waste data, compliance audit outcomes, and worker satisfaction survey results.

    How We Work

From site assessment to daily service delivery

Industrial food program implementation follows a structured four-week onboarding cycle before full-scale operations commence.

Regular hygiene and compliance audits, monthly MIS reports, quarterly menu innovation, workforce satisfaction reviews, and contract performance assessments.

    Common Questions

    Frequently asked questions

Yes. Our industrial catering programs are specifically designed for continuous-shift environments. We build separate meal schedules, batch plans, and service SOPs for each shift — including night shifts — so quality and consistency are maintained regardless of the time of day.

We work with facilities serving a minimum of 200 workers per day. For larger campuses with multiple plants or locations, we operate as a unified program under a single program manager and consolidated MIS reporting structure.

For remote or greenfield locations where established kitchen infrastructure doesn't yet exist, we can manage full setup — from mobile kitchen units and temporary canteen infrastructure to sourcing local kitchen partners and establishing supply chains. This is common for construction projects, new plant launches, and township-based facilities.

For off-site kitchens, meals are transported in insulated, food-grade containers via dedicated vehicles. Delivery schedules are mapped precisely to shift break windows. Temperature logs are maintained throughout transit, and on-site service coordinators manage counter setup and serving.

All partner kitchens are required to hold a valid FSSAI license and pass our internal hygiene assessment before onboarding. For pharma and clean-room facilities, we additionally source partners with ISO 22000 and HACCP certifications. All compliance documentation is maintained centrally by HGK Foods and available on request.

We run structured satisfaction surveys on a monthly cycle — a combination of digital forms and in-person feedback counters. Results are analysed and shared in our monthly MIS report, with specific menu or service changes implemented in the following cycle. Satisfaction trends are tracked quarter-on-quarter.
